The IT Department has installed and configured a new Information Delivery System.  IDS uses Citrix's MetaFrame Presentation Server to provide remote access to applications, folders, and network resources.  The IDS system gives faculty, staff, and students access to their information anytime, anywhere.  Students can use IDS to access the applications  they use in their labs from their home computer and open/save files on STC's network.  Employees can use IDS to access the applications they use in their offices and also access the S: drive, P: drive, and other shared folders and network resources.

How does IDS benefit you?
IDS will allow students to access classroom software applications from their home computer without having to purchase or install the applications.  Data can be stored on STC's network servers for easy access by the student and their instructor.  Faculty and staff can use IDS to use applications and gain access to the S: drive, P: drive, other shared folders, printers, copy machines, etc.  The following list is an example of software applications that are available via IDS:
  • Microsoft Office 2003 (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher, Visio, Project)
  • QuickBooks Pro 2005
  • Payroll 2005
  • Visual Basic 6
  • Adobe Creative Suite 2
  • Macromedia Studio MX 2004
What are the requirements for IDS access?
Any student, adjunct faculty member, or full-time employee wishing to use IDS will need to meet the following minimum requirements:
  • Must have logged in and started using their Campus Pipeline email account
  • Must have a computer capable of connecting to the Internet
  • Citrix client (will be automatically downloaded if not already installed during first access)
Who can use the IDS?
Any currently enrolled STC student, adjunct faculty member, and all full-time employees.

All students are generated an IDS account within 24 hrs. after being registered for classes.
